Sonata for Tuba and Piano - Noah D. Taylor

$24.95

The Sonata for Tuba and Piano was composed in 2006 for Amanda Jurkovskis Plocher. The work is comprised of three movements. Movement one is in sonata form and features flowing piano phrases and light-articulated tuba writing. The second movement uses Taylor's Song for Night melody. This movement features a darker harmonic texture and requires the tuba to play in the upper range of the instrument for a beautiful, but haunting sound. The third movement is a spirited dance, with aggressive rhythmic features and exciting dynamic textures. The Sonata for Tuba and Piano is a challenging and exciting piece for the performer.
