Generally understood, the term 'bel canto' refers to the Italian vocal style of the 18th and early 19th centuries which the qualities of which include perfect legato production throughout the range; the secret to bel canto, some claim, lays in continuity of tone and in the ability to pass from one musical phrase to the next with little to no interruption.

Alessandro Fossi display 'bel canto' in it's truest form - perfectly, with his first solo release. Fossi has performed with many of the most important orchestras in Italy and Europe. He is the tuba instructor at the Conservatorio 'G. Rossini' in Pesaro, Italy. He is a B&S - Melton artist. Accompanying Mr. Fossi on this disc is Nicoletta Mezzini.
