A Weaver of Dreams - Marc Dickman

$16.95

Marc Dickman's debut recording with his unique sound on the euphonium has made a significant contribution to the history of low brass jazz performance. Listeners will be reminded of Rich Matteson, the valve-trombone of Bob Brookmeyer, or maybe Chet Baker down an octave. Slide Hampton said, “That big warm sound is the same timbre I try to get on my trombone.” “My primary influence on jazz euphonium was Rich Matteson,” said Dickman in a recent interview. “I also listened to and transcribed Clifford Brown, Blue Mitchell, Sonny Stitt, and many, many others.” Dickman has assembled a band that can equal any acoustic jazz group from New York to Los Angeles.
