Funk Theory (euphonium + trombone quartet) - Pete Meechan

$29.95

Funk Theory is a different type of work for euphonium and trombone quartet. This work was commissioned by David Childs in 2003, and was premiered at the RNCM Festival of Brass that same year. The music is based on two simple chords sequences, but is fueled by the driving rhythmic nature of the piece. The melody continually varies and develops becoming increasingly busy and difficult. To this extent, it could almost be seen as a small set of 'funk' variations.
